It all began with a love of coffee and the outdoors. In the 1990s, the first drive-through cafe in Marin County, California, opened in our town. There were a few chairs outside the small drive-thru building with views of the nearby mountains and hills. In the mornings, or after hiking and biking, we spent time at the drive-through cafe getting to know the owners. While enjoying the views and drinking espresso, they educated us on the secrets to excellent-tasting espresso and the importance of clean equipment free from coffee residue and odors.

While asking many questions and observing them work, they expressed the pitfalls of their cleaning products and processes.

A few years later, we set out to help them solve those problems by creating cleaning products designed specifically for baristas and roasters. Each new product was developed with input and testing provided by baristas, roasters, and cafe owners.
